Out of Control British Yobs

Drunk, violent, promiscuous... a U.S. view of British youth as seen on the cover of Time Magazine

British youth are violent, drunken and out of control, a leading American magazine concludes today.

...Its headline reads: "Unhappy, Unloved and Out of Control - An epidemic of violence, crime and drunkenness has made Britain scared of its young."

It also pours scorn upon the parenting abilities of the British, claiming they do not spend enough time with their children and cannot cope.

The magazine criticises our class-riven society, education system and binge-drinking culture.

..."The boys and girls who casually pick fights, have sex and keep the emergency services fully occupied are often fuelled by cheap booze."

It says that British youngsters drink far more than their European counterparts, are more frequently involved in violence and are more likely to try drugs, adding that English girls are the most sexually active in Europe.

"Small wonder then, that a 2007 Unicef study of child well-being in 21 industrialised countries placed Britain firmly at the bottom of the table," the article states.

..."But it is also true that for what Bob Reitemeier, chief executive of the Children's Society, call a 'significant minority' of British children, unhappiness - and the criminality, excessive drinking and drug-taking and promiscuity that is its expression - really have created a crisis. ...

I don't think it's a coincidence that last week it was revealed that UK marriage rates are at an all time low. This could be our future if we continue to hasten the disintegration and destruction of the traditional family and society.

Dangers of Earth Hour

I was reading this article Cities Switch Off Lights for Earth Hour (I did not take part as I think man-made "climate change" - formerly known as global warming until they realized the earth is cooling - is a hoax) but thought this sentence was hilarious:

Ireland's more than 7,000 pubs elected not to take part - in part because of the risk that Saturday night revelers could end up smashing glasses, falling down stairs, or setting themselves on fire with candles.

Sex with WHAT?!

Man Faces Charges for Having Sex With Picnic Table

Ohio police have arrested a man who was caught on tape allegedly having sex with a picnic table.

Art Price Jr., 40, of Bellevue, Ohio, was arrested after a neighbor videotaped him engaged sexually with the metal table, according to a report on FOX19.com.

Price was seen on four separate occasions, always between 10:30 a.m. and noon, having sex with the picnic table, Bellevue Police Capt. Matt Johnson told the TV station.

"The first video we had, he was completely nude," Johnson said, noting the table in question had a hole in the middle intended to hold an umbrella.

Better off with Saddam?

I heard someone on the radio say Iraq was better off under Saddam. It is important to remember the evil in Iraq before the American liberation.

Saddam-era torture tools in mobile museum of horror

Gruesome instruments of torture and the personal effects of victims killed by henchmen of dictator Saddam Hussein haunt Iraqis five years after the fall of his brutal regime.

The display, currently on show in Baghdad, is due to travel across the country in "tribute to the thousands of martyrs" murdered when Saddam was in power, former political prisoner Amed Naji al-Badawi said.

...Nooses hang from the ceiling, and a wooden coffin-like box containing a mediaeval-looking torture rack on which prisoners were pinned and stretched takes centre stage. Pictures of hangings and bodies are plastered all over the walls.

"These are the horrors of the Saddam regime," said Badawi, a stout man in his 50s who spent five years in the jails of Saddam's feared "mukhabarat" secret service because of his alleged support for the Shiite Dawa party.

He was arrested along with 13 members of his family -- and seven of his brothers were killed by Saddam's goons. Over the past five years Badawi's committee has helped to locate 106 mass graves and the remains of 1,050 men, women and children killed by members of the ousted regime.

...Among the most horrific objects retrieved by Badawi and his team from the notorious torture rooms of the mukhabarat, and now included in the museum, is a wooden table covered in a worn strip of leather and with a domestic iron placed at one end.

"This is an electrocution table," Badawi said.

"The naked prisoner was bound to the table with a steel bar strapped to his shoulder" to ensure maximum immobility as his torturers electrocuted him or used the iron to inflict burns, Badawi said.

Electric shocks were delivered via electrodes attached to a plastic syringe, the needle of which "was inserted into the urethra of the victim's sexual organ," Badawi added. "The pain was atrocious."

Videos of torture sessions are also screened in a basement room. Terrified prisoners can be seen being beaten, having their arms and legs broken and being thrown from rooftops or blown up with explosives.

Knut is going knuts!

Knut the polar bear is a 'publicity-addicted psycho', says keeper as he risks his job to speak out

Knut has turned into a publicity-addicted psycho bear who must be removed from his adoring public as soon as possible.

...Markus Roebke, part of a team who cares for the celebrity bear, has risked his job by speaking out about his mental health.

"Knut must go and the sooner the better," he said, adding he should be put into a zoo or animal park that weans him from his addiction to celebrity.

"We are not allowed to have contact with him any more and have received letters that if we breach this order our jobs are on the line. He is too unpredictable to play with now.

"He is addicted to the whole show, the human adulation. It is not healthy.

"He actually cries out or whimpers if he sees that there is not a spectator outside his enclosure ready to ooh and aah at him.

"When the zoo had to shut because of black ice everywhere he howled until staff members stood before him and calmed him down."

...Zookeeper Roebke is not the only one to cast doubts on his sanity - a prominent animal conservationist went so far in January as to actually brand him "an animal psychopath."

Roebke went on: "The trouble is that he identifies himself as a human and not as a polar bear. And as long as he is with us he will always think of Thomas Doerflein, the keeper who brought him up when he was a baby, as his father.

"Knut needs publicity and that must change."

UK woes - a vision of the furture for the US under a Democrat President?

This article If you think it’s bad here, don’t try Switzerland discusses a new assessment that ranks countries and the UK comes out pretty high at #7, while the U.S. is a relatively low 22. But you have to read further to find out that the U.S. lost points for our constitution right to protect ourselves in our own homes with firearms!

But in light of the following articles from just one week in the Daily Mail, England doesn't sound so good. This is where the U.S. is headed (and some in this country aspire to) - esp. if Obama or Clinton are elected.

Socialized medicine - both candidates have plans to provide universal health care, shortages, costs and quality be damned:

Lung patients 'condemned to death as NHS withdraws their too expensive drugs'

Hundreds of patients with a rare lung disease will be sentenced to death by plans to stop doctors prescribing a range of drugs on the NHS, it was claimed last night.

Campaigners have condemned proposals by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence to withdraw the drugs because they are too expensive.

Family's fury as they discover 'do not resuscitate' order in mother's file after she dies
An elderly woman was left to die in hospital after an order not to resuscitate her was issued without her family's knowledge, it has been revealed.

The daughters of Doris Jarvis, 82, found the order on her medical file after complaining about the "appalling and disgraceful" care they claimed she received.

Government programs - both candidates are tripping over themselves to see who can propose the most government benefits, spending, and programs, and make people more dependent on government handouts:

Meet the families where no one's worked for THREE generations - and they don't care
Grandmother Sue is divorced and has three daughters, Theresa, 34, Debbie, 32, and Tammy, 24. None of the adults living in the house in Ellesmere Port, near Chester, has a job, and there are also six grandchildren living at home - Kyle, 18, Clayton , 12, Tyler, nine, Courtney, eight, Jodie, seven, and Lucas, six.

But the really disturbing aspect of the McFaddens' lifestyle is that they are far from alone. Six million Britons are living in homes where no one has a job and "benefits are a way of life", according to a report by MPs. Shock figures also revealed that 20,000 households in Britain are pocketing more than £30,000 a year in state benefits.

..."I could have trained as a fireman or something, but I didn't want the responsibility. All I've ever wanted is to chill out and have easy money. All my family and friends live in council houses - my parents included."

..."I don't like the idea of having to be bossed around at work and I don't want to go to college or anything because I like to stay in bed in the morning. In the meantime, it's my right to claim benefits. One day I'd like a council flat."

Right to Life - not only do both candidates have horrific records on abortion, but Obama now says the worst thing he did in Congress was vote to allow Terri Schiavo (a woman declared to be in a persistent vegetative state by doctors but whose parents wanted to keep her alive and willing to take care of and rehabilitate her) to live:

Alive: The man who heard doctors declare him brain dead and prepare to harvest his organs

A man who was pronounced dead by doctors said last night: "I feel pretty good."

Four months after he was declared brain dead and doctors were about to remove his organs for transplant, Zach Dunlap is on the road to recovery.

...His father, Doug, said he saw the results of the brain scan.

"There was no activity at all, no blood flow at all."

It's time to rethink abortion law

The latest figures on abortion, which we publish today, generate a deep sense of despair. Despite the billions poured into sex education, the number of teenage girls having abortions is at an all-time high. In some parts of the country, as many as one teenage girl in every 23 has had an abortion. Whatever is required to get the rate of teenage pregnancy down in Britain, it is clearly not being done.

Grandma got run over by Obama

Paul Shanklin has an awesome parody that Rush Limbaugh's been playing, set to the tune of the Christmas classic "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer."

This link to the audio file opens in your Windows Media Player (don't know what happens if you have a Mac or something else)

Obama threw his grandmother under the bus by saying she holds racist views and therefore is a "typical white person." How dare he! That's quite the racial stereotype! What if I were to say Obama is a typical black person for seeing racism everywhere and anywhere? And of course the most famous person to have said he feels nervous walking down the street with a black man coming toward or behind him is the Rev. Jesse Jackson! Good job bringing unity to the country and transcending race by calling all whites racist, Obama.

I also don't like that Obama did his race speech in response to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy. To me, the implication there is that anyone who took offense to Rev. Wright's words and was upset by them is racist. I've heard plenty of white left-wing wackos espouse the same sick beliefs about 9-11 and government conspiracies against blacks so this has nothing to do with race and everything to do with Obama's extreme liberal views (which many Americans are still not aware of, so blinded are they by his stage presence and empty rhetoric) and his judgment (in having such a close, long relationship with this angry, polarizing "spiritual mentor.")

BTW, for those who want to excuse Rev. Wright's post 9-11 sermon, yes he quoted Edward Peck saying, "America's chickens are coming home to roost," but it is CLEAR he wholeheartedly agrees with the analogy and he added all his own examples of moral equivalence and what America did to deserve 9-11. Besides, his reference of Peck, who is white, only reinforces my argument that this isn't a race issue.

BBC misleads on dire consequences of housing foreclosures in CA

This article is outrageously misleading! They make it seem like this Tent City is the result of the home mortgage crisis at the beginning, but only by reading the whole article do you find out that the city was made for homeless people months before the crisis and they only found one family that was there as a result of the crisis, but they do "expect" more.

Tent city highlights US homes crisis

The meltdown in the US mortgage market has led to record foreclosures and forced thousands from their homes. In few places is it worse than southern California, where the BBC's Rajesh Mirchandani reports on an extreme consequence of the downturn, but one that some observers fear could grow.

...Last summer, local officials established this camp as a temporary base for the city's homeless population, then around two dozen.

But word spread and now some 300 people live here.

...But one man, who did not give his name, said he and his family were living in Tent City because they were victims of America's foreclosure crisis. It came down to "feeding my family or keeping the house", he said, "so I got rid of the house".

...There are thousands like him across California - people whose inability to finance their mortgages has cost them their homes; many thousands more across the US.

But in Tent City, at least, he is in a minority - few are here as a direct result of the housing crash.

However, Mike Dunlap, who runs a volunteer group providing supplies to Tent City's dwellers, thinks that could change.

...He fears that, as more people lose their homes in what appears to be a deepening housing market collapse, more former homeowners could end up in places like Tent City.

"God D*mn America"

Says Obama's "spiritual mentor"

A lot of these quotes are just typical liberal tripe, but I'm sure a lot of Obama supporters who haven't been paying attention and still think he's a moderate "uniter" will be surprised. And there's no excuse for saying the government gave black people AIDS to kill them and the US is the same as al Qaeda. Is this the change we can believe in?

Abortion shown to have harmful mental effects . . . again

But the U.S. will not acknowledge it

Royal college warns abortions can lead to mental illness

Women may be at risk of mental health breakdowns if they have abortions, a medical royal college has warned. The Royal College of Psychiatrists says women should not be allowed to have an abortion until they are counselled on the possible risk to their mental health.

This overturns the consensus that has stood for decades that the risk to mental health of continuing with an unwanted pregnancy outweighs the risks of living with the possible regrets of having an abortion.

... Some MPs also want women to have a “cooling off” period in which they would be made aware of the possible consequences of the abortion, including the impact on their mental health, before they could go ahead.

More than 90% of the 200,000 terminations in Britain every year are believed to be carried out because doctors believe that continuing with the pregnancy would cause greater mental strain.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists recommends updating abortion information leaflets to include details of the risks of depression. “Consent cannot be informed without the provision of adequate and appropriate information,” it says.

Several studies, including research published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry in 2006, concluded that abortion in young women might be associated with risks of mental health problems.

...The college’s revised stance was welcomed by Nadine Dorries, a Conservative MP campaigning for a statutory cooling-off period: “For doctors to process a woman’s request for an abortion without providing the support, information and help women need at this time of crisis I regard almost as a form of abuse,” she said.

...Dr Peter Saunders, general secretary of the Christian Medical Fellowship, said: “How can a doctor now justify an abortion [on mental health grounds] if psychiatrists are questioning whether there is any clear evidence that continuing with the pregnancy leads to mental health problems.

When you gotta go, you gotta go

I've been super-busy this week, but this was too good not to post.

Woman rescued after sitting on boyfriend's toilet for TWO YEARS

A woman had to be rescued by emergency services after being stuck on her boyfriend's toilet for two years.

The 35-year-old's skin had grown around the seat and her legs had wasted away.

Her boyfriend, 36, would bring her food and water and ask her whether she was ready to come out of the bathroom.

She would reply, "maybe tomorrow", according to police in Kansas, U.S.

He finally called in police and medics who found her on the toilet with her jogging bottoms pulled down to mid-thigh.

She was "somewhat disoriented" and her legs looked like they had wasted away, Sheriff Bryan Whipple said.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was okay and did not want to leave," he said.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital.

"The hospital removed it."

March 10: Celebrate former back-alley butchers!

Fourth Annual Abortion Practitioner of the Year Awards Show Anti-Woman Abuses
Here are the nominees, in alpha order to be fair:

Malachy DeHenre: Found guilty this January for murdering his wife after losing his medical license in Alabama, New York and Mississippi for botched abortions, rape, and death of a patient.

Alberto Hodari: Late-termer caught on videotape in November speaking to Medical Students for Choice at Wayne State University in Michigan, invited despite having been previously accused of killing two patients. Hodari bragged about lying to patients and families and not washing hands between abortions, among other grossities.

George Kabacy: Former Oregon Planned Parenthood slice-and-dicer who pleaded guilty in Washington state in November for engaging in and advertising child porn. Kabacy was also accused but never convicted of killing a patient.

Deborah Lyn Levich: Allowed her Alabama medical license to expire last January after being charged with letting non-physicians commit abortions, underestimating fetal gestational age, falsifying records, committing illegal abortions and failing to treat a patient in dire straits. Levich is still licensed to practice in Georgia.

Rapin Osathanondh: Surrendered his Massachusetts medical license voluntarily last month after allegedly killing 22-year-old Laura Smith in September with an anesthesia overdose.

James Pendergraft: Had his Florida license suspended one year in December and was fined $10,000 for committing an illegal late-term abortion that resulted in a brain-damaged baby. Previously imprisoned in 2001 for extortion. In 2005, one of his five clinics turned away paramedics responding to a call by a mother inside whose baby was aborted alive and allowed to die.

Laurence Reich: Charged in California last month for practicing medicine without a license after having it revoked in 2005 for molesting patients.

Hamid Hussain Sheikh: Indicted in November by Kentucky officials for defrauding Medicaid.

Sheldon Turkish: In a case making its way to the U.S. Supreme Court, Turkish has been charged for committing an abortion without informed consent, including lying that a patient was not carrying human life.
...
And the winner is …

Laurence Reich! Congratulations!

Here is the rest of Reich's exciting portfolio.

Don't die or I'll have to kill you!

WHAAAAAAAAA?! This cannot be true! This feels like a parody!

Cemetery full, mayor tells locals not to die

BORDEAUX, France (Reuters) - The mayor of a village in southwest France has threatened residents with severe punishment if they die, because there is no room left in the overcrowded cemetery to bury them.

In an ordinance posted in the council offices, Mayor Gerard Lalanne told the 260 residents of the village of Sarpourenx that "all persons not having a plot in the cemetery and wishing to be buried in Sarpourenx are forbidden from dying in the parish."

It added: "Offenders will be severely punished."

The mayor said he was forced to take drastic action after an administrative court in the nearby town of Pau ruled in January that the acquisition of adjoining private land to extend the cemetery would not be justified.

Lalanne, who celebrated his 70th birthday on Wednesday and is standing for election to a seventh term in this month's local elections, said he was sorry that there had not been a positive outcome to the dilemma.

Anti-war bombing

Just another "peaceful" tactic to protest the military and the war!

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg: Military Apparent Target of Times Square Blast

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said a blast that shook Times Square and disrupted transit Thursday appears to have deliberately targeted the military recruiting center where it went off.

Bloomberg lambasted the perpetrator for apparently going after the armed forces.

"The fact that this appears deliberately directed at the recruiting station insults every one of our brave men and women around the world," the mayor said in a news conference in Times Square on Thursday.

Authorities in New York City are looking for the culprit who set off the rudimentary explosive device in Times Square early Thursday, with one witness describing a hooded man on a bicycle wearing a backpack and acting suspiciously just before the blast at the recruiting station.

Canada's fabulous health care in action

Wait, universal health care leads to overcrowded hospitals and long waits? Who could have predicted that?!

Calgary hospitals too full for Sask. patient: health region

The Calgary Health Region is defending its decision to deny the transfer of a frail Saskatchewan patient to one of its hospitals for specialized care.

Both the man's family and his frustrated doctor say the health system failed Jack Hintz, 85, who died last month, but the region said its hospitals were simply too full.
...
The region said it could not safely accept any patient transfers because its three adult hospitals were over capacity, with long waits in the emergency departments and a high number of patients already waiting for hospital beds.

Clintonite Stabs Obama Supporter

According to a criminal complaint, a copy of which you'll find here, the 41-year-old Shurelds, an Obama supporter, told Ortiz that the Illinois senator was "trashing" Clinton (apparently in regard to recent primary and caucus results). Ortiz, a Clinton supporter, replied that "Obama was not a realist." While not exactly fighting words, the verbal political tiff led to some mutual choking and punching. And, allegedly, a stabbing in the abdomen.

WAAAAHH! I miss baby Knut!

A year ago, he was a cute and cuddly ball of white fur who captured the hearts of millions worldwide.

But Knut the polar bear has grown up fast - as this startled young visitor to Berlin Zoo discovered.

Knut now weighs 22 stone and has six-inch claws and a fearsome set of fangs to match.

And he seemed to be particularly keen to test them on the three-year-old boy lying on the ground next to his enclosure.

Fortunately for the youngster, six inches of glass capable of withstanding a mortar attack separated him from the jaws of the world's most famous captive bear.

I'm going to try this excuse on Monday!

Police: Man Gets Shot to Avoid Work

What happened to faking a cough? Sheriff's detectives in Franklin County said a man had his friend shoot him in the shoulder so he wouldn't have to go to work.

When he first spoke with deputies, Daniel Kuch, of Pasco, told them he'd been the victim of a drive-by shooting while he was out jogging Thursday. But detectives told KONA radio that Kuch later acknowledged that he asked his friend to shoot him so he could get some time off work and avoid an upcoming drug test.

The friend, Kurtis Johnson, of Burbank, has been arrested for investigation of reckless endangerment. Kuch was booked into the county jail and is expected to be charged with false reporting.

That's what friends are for!
