Born Alive Abortion: an OBAMAnation

Remember my post about how babies in England surviving abortion are left to die and how we are lucky the US doesn't do that? Well, Obama opposed and blocked the Infants Born Alive Protection Act of 2002 that passed the U.S. Senate on a voice vote when the Illinois legislature was considering it. Oh, yeah and he also supports partial birth abortion and taxpayer-funded abortions.

That is NOT the kind of "change" I want in this country! I, for on
e, don't want to turn the clock on human rights back to 20th century policies when such hideous crimes were legal.

Abortion foes target Obama because of his vote record on Illinois legislation

Abortion foes in Illinois, following the lead of registered nurse Jill Stanek, are targeting Obama (D-Ill.) for a number of “present” and “no” votes he cast on anti-abortion legislation during his time in the Illinois state Senate.

It is hardly unusual that a Democratic candidate would receive unfavorable attention from anti-abortion groups. But Stanek and other anti-abortion crusaders in Illinois are targeting Obama because he voted on a package of legislation collectively known as the Illinois Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

The legislation came about after Stanek, then a nurse at Christ Hospital in the Chicago suburb of Oak Lawn, witnessed late-term abortions “where babies were being aborted alive and shelved to die in the soiled utility room” of the hospital, in her words.

Stanek, who said she held one of those infants until it died after about 45 minutes, began reaching out to public officials, testifying before both state and national lawmakers.

From 2001 to 2002, Obama voted either “present” or “no” on the legislation. In his floor speeches at the time, he cited in particular his concerns about the constitutionality of the definition of a “born alive infant” and the inclusion of potential civil and criminal penalties for doctors in these situations. He also warned that the bill might compromise the relationship between a woman and her doctor.

The measure failed in the Illinois statehouse in both 2001 and 2002.

For evidence from Jill Stanek on how, contrary to Obama's claims, the definition of "born alive" was the same for both the U.S. Congress and the Illinois bills and then when the congressional one changed, Obama blocked an amendment to change the Ill. one, too, read here.

Hmm... maybe this is why we're not hearing much about Obama on the issues ...

Life is so Important-

This is my prose
"The whisper faded away as the mists of the past.
never to be prose again, in empty halls of manes
erased and friendless, alone and vanished
to wander the haunt, a forgottem vapor
O Mneme O Mneme, return I pray
bread nor a drink of the cup was there
forever to be anew, to bane and curse,
to those who devour thee,"

Obama is anti-life!

Hi, nice blog.
Obama opposed the Born Alive Infants Bill, that if a baby is born alive the baby has the right to life.
Barack Obama is the most pro-abortion (anti-life) presidential candidate ever.
The prose is based on old english prose Runes writing, it's about ghosts of innocent souls that faded away because people have forgotten about innocent life. That people now today feast only to be curse because they do not remember the alone and vanished innocent souls.
"Mneme" was one of the three original Muses of forgetfulness.

It's a ancient pro-life poem.

Again, great blog, I found it by chance.
Best regards,

The only tragedy I see is that your mother chose to carry you to term.

The premise of the language is attractive. Smart, really - after all who wants to KILL BABIES? Nothing as villainous as not wanting to protect babies.

Sadly the definition in the bill of 'born alive' is so vague that it would mostly serve to create a horrifying area in hospitals where futureless, half-formed abortions - probably without adequate brain development - are kept alive for no reason but to eventually die or vegetate.

So, passage of this legislation could force the inhumane life support of extreme premature births, babies which have virtually no chance for survival, and if they do make it are gauranteed to have major birth defects and severe disability later in life.

I think the truth of the matter is that we must be CERTAIN we want a law, and all of it's implications, before we pass it. "Something is better than nothing" doesn't really cut it with laws that deal with lives.

To say that abortion is killing babies is an axiomatic presupposition of the highest degree — it is only convenient to asserting your side of the argument, and it certainly doesn't 'burst any bubbles.'

You are asking us to accept an axiom of abortion as a prerequisite for any discussion of that practice within society as a whole. This is akin to allowing NAMBLA to outline the definition of "consent" before beginning the debate.

Not to mention that even pro-lifers of nearly all stripes will stipulate conditions in which abortion isn't actually 'killing babies' after all; notorious examples include situations where abortion is necessary to save the life of the mother.

What you call an unfair axiomatic presupposition, I call scientific, medical, and biological fact. If abortion isn't killing babies - i.e. ending a human life, stopping a beating heart, resulting in death - what is it?

When an abortion is used to save the life of the mother, the baby is still killed. A baby could be killed in a car crash, too.

Perhaps the distinction you are looking for is "murder," which implies malicious intent?

Apparently you think pro-lifers are comparable to NAMBLA and that our thoughts should be discounted as such - so why am I even bothering to respond?

I am curious as to how Jill Stanek defines "alive." My guess is that these fetuses were incapable of surviving outside of the hospital and without extensive and expensive medical care. Most likely, even if this care were given, it is questionable if there would be any quality of life for these "born alive" babies.

Jill Stanke should mind her own business. No one is asking her to have an abortion.

Wow, anonymous, you have NO CLUE what you are talking about! Jill Stanek is a registered nurse who participated in abortions and blew the whistle in congressional testimony on the practice of leaving babies born alive alone to die without medical care or pain killers. She felt she couldn't just mind her own business. In part because of her testimony, the U.S. Congress made this horrific practice illegal. It's not her definition about what "alive" means, that language was decided upon in law by Congress. You act as if this law doesn't exist and this is just one random woman's opinion!

If we work on accepted definitions in the medical and legal fields, then you would be accepting that abortion is not 'killing.'

Now, I know you aren't, so what you're wanting to say is that it is your own moral opinion that such an act is killing.

I was having a little fun with a play on words when I realized that it’s not so amusing as it is disturbing.

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for the Obama Nation that be in the midst thereof

He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in Obama Nation.

Deuteronomy 27:15
Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, or an Obama Nation unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

These are only a few!
